A 2022 update.

Where things stand, and a kind request from you.

Hello,

First of all, my apologies - it’s been a busy few months as you’re probably aware.

October had the book launch, my appendix almost went burst and I had a sudden family bereavement, and it’s only now my head is getting back to normal.

Every time I’ve sat down to write something here, something else would arrive to deserve my attention, and at the end of Jan, I have time to say, hello.

Frankly, the launch of the book was incredible. Alongside this, the day job is great, and I love it - every day is fun, unpredictable and the team are the best.

The wedding is also getting there, with more ticks being made as April approaches, and I have a stag do in two weeks, of which I have no idea what’s happening, so that’s nice.

But in all honesty, I’m in two minds about this place. My podcasts are on hiatus for this year, and the book is now out, and the day job hones in on what I love to talk about.

So where does this newsletter currently stand for you and me?

Currently, not sure. There’s colleagues who have their own newsletters that barely has any relation to work. But I use a MacBook Pro full-time instead of an iPad now, my work setup has changed massively since 2020, Lincoln is a city I genuinely adore, and I’ve been looking more and more at ales and alcohol in a hobbyist way, so maybe all of these?

Let me know if this appeals.

But regardless, this is your notice that, it’s a good chance I won’t be writing regularly here for now. But if there’s nothing that fits the day job at all, you can be sure that it’ll go here anyway.

I’ve also been asked about a ‘Book 2’ on many occasions, and I did post some content about how I made Book 1 here. If you want more of that, holla.

But with respect to a Book 2, all I’ll say is, who knows. But you’ll be the first to find out about it if this does happen.

But in the meantime, if you want to un-subscribe, I won’t hold it against you, much. Just don’t expect regular content to make a return here for now, alongside some topics I’ve previously posted on here.

But for those who have, and who will decide to keep that subscription going, you’re a good egg, and I owe you a drink for whenever we can meet in person.

That’s three buts at the start of a sentence so far, but this place is where I reign supreme.
